It dates back to the 19th century when it was used to be a church and then was transformed into a synagogue in 882 AD. It is believed that it held an original copy of the Old Testament. The synagogue remains in good condition, holding phenomenal designs and decorations. The place used to be the capital of Jewish worship for many years until the 1950s.
