Spider Car Hurghada — Buggy Safari in the Desert

A spider car is a lightweight open buggy built for sand — a roll cage, four wide tyres and nothing between you and the desert. On this spider car safari you drive it yourself across the open desert outside Hurghada, with a guide leading the way and a stop at a Bedouin village for tea and a camel ride.

The spider buggy needs no licence and the controls are simple: throttle, brake, steering wheel. Take a two-seater buggy to share with one other person, or a four-seater if you’re coming as a family.

Spider Car & Buggy Safari Hurghada — Full Itinerary

  1. 20–40 min

    Hotel pick-up

Pick-up from your hotel around 7:30 AM or 2:30 PM (exact time confirmed after booking). The transfer to the desert base takes 20–40 minutes depending on where you're staying.

  2. 15 min

    Safety briefing and test drive

At the base you'll meet your guide over a glass of Bedouin tea, get a short briefing, and take a few test laps to get used to the buggy before setting off. The controls are throttle, brake and steering wheel — no licence or previous experience is needed.

  3. 45 min

Spider car ride into the desert

The desert safari starts here: drive your own spider buggy across the open desert outside Hurghada, following your guide over sand tracks and rocky ground with the Red Sea mountains around you.

  4. 20 min

    Bedouin village

Stop at a traditional Bedouin village for a 10-minute camel ride, a glass of Bedouin tea, and time to hear how the desert communities live out here.

  5. 45 min

    Return buggy ride

Drive the spider car back to the base. You've had the practice by now, so most people take this leg faster and with a lot more confidence than the way out.

  6. 20–40 min

    Back to your hotel

At the base you hand in the helmet and buggy, then your air-conditioned transfer takes you back — arriving around 11:00 AM for the morning tour, or 6:00 PM in the afternoon.
